Sausage And Cabbage

Sausage & Cabbage Skillet:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound sausage links, sliced into bite-sized pieces

  • 1 small head of green cabbage, thinly sliced

  • 1 large white onion, thinly sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon cooking fat

Directions: In a large skillet, heat your cooking fat over medium-high. Add the sliced sausage to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until it's browned and cooked through. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Remove the cooked sausage from the skillet and set it aside.

In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant. Add the thinly sliced cabbage to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and stir to combine ingredients. Cover the skillet and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.

Return the cooked sausage to the skillet and mix it with the cabbage. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through. Taste and adjust the seasoning, if necessary and then, enjoy!
