When Laboratory Testing

May Be Helpful

Every patient arrives with a different history, different symptoms, and often different laboratory work already in hand. We begin where you are — not where a protocol tells us to start.

Laboratory testing is a tool — not a prerequisite.

I do not require every patient to purchase an extensive panel of laboratory tests before we begin working together. Many patients already have recent, high-quality results. When that’s the case, we start with what you have.

When additional testing is needed, I will recommend it based on your specific symptoms, medical history, and clinical goals — and I will explain exactly why before asking you to spend money. My goal is not to order more testing. My goal is to order the right testing for you.

A Thought About Laboratory Testing

Good Medicine Is Also Good Stewardship

I believe healthcare should be both excellent and responsible. I don’t recommend testing simply because it’s available — I recommend it when it will genuinely help us understand your physiology and make better clinical decisions. If the laboratory work you already have answers the necessary questions, we’ll use it. If additional testing is warranted, I will explain exactly what we’re looking for and why it matters before asking you to spend your money. Your resources deserve that respect.

Every Recommendation Starts With One Question

Will this information help us better understand your physiology and improve your treatment? If the answer is yes, I’ll explain why I recommend it. If the answer is no, I won’t ask you to spend money on it. That’s the standard I hold myself to.
